I find new experiences in ordinary activities while meditating. Observing the way air has physical weight, the way a dead tree harbors more life than anything around it, the way two birds in a flock of thousands can make their bond the most visible thing in the sky. The boundry between myself and my souroundings dissolves. I try to capture this in my work. I try to make the negative space in my drawing as meaningul as the positive. Letting the blankness of the paper play an intrical part of the designs. I draw birds. The creatures unbound from the ground. Truely free in the three dimensional world. They have a relationship to gravity that is genuinely different in kind. I collapse that infinity of possible paths into form. Every mark I make is an act of presence. Every dot placed contributes to the tapestry of a moment preserved as form.
